How does double elimination work?
Every team starts in the winners bracket. One loss moves a team to the second-chance (losers) bracket. A second loss eliminates that team. The two bracket winners meet in the championship. The second-chance winner must win twice against the undefeated finalist, so a reset game appears when needed.
What happens with an odd number of teams?
The bracket fills the next power of two with byes. A bye automatically advances a team without a game or a loss. Supports 3–32 teams, including 6, 12, and 24-team events.
Is this really free?
Yes. No account, email address, payment, or equipment purchase is required. The bracket works with your existing tables and cups.
Can I share it or switch devices?
Download a JSON backup and load it from the setup screen on another device. That is a snapshot, not a synced bracket. You can also print the full bracket or save it as a PDF using your browser’s print dialog. Treat downloaded team names as information you are choosing to share.
How long should I allow?
A completed event has 2N − 2 games, or 2N − 1 with a championship reset, where N is the team count. Sixteen teams means 30–31 games. Match length, available tables, and dependencies determine the schedule; not every game can run in parallel. See our tournament planning guide and agree on house rules before play. Alcohol is not required.
